  • ထောက်ပံ့သည်။ File Formats: .dwg, .dxf
  • License Requirement: Rotary Pipe Cutting License for Rotary Tube Cutter feature

Thank you for choosing SheetCAM v8.0!

SheetCam V.8.0 now has 3 new important features:

2D CAD

An advanced but easy to use 2D CAD application for creating or editing 2D drawings. One can either create a totally new drawing or import an existing one. 2D CAD works with both .dwg and .dxf file formats.

SHEETCAM-2D-CAD-Software-fig-1

Automatic Nesting

Allows you to find optimal location of the parts generated by SheetCam, optimizing the usage of the sheet and reducing waste. This saves time, material, and money.

Rotary Tube Cutter

This feature allows you to “project” 2D contours on various profiles. Several profiles are available, including round, square, I, C, and L shapes. Here is an example of the C-shape profile:

အလုပ်အသွားအလာ

Let’s start with 2D CAD
We recommend starting any job with 2D CAD. Using this application, you can create a new drawing or open an existing one (in DFX and DWG formats). When you run the 2D CAD application for first time, we suggest you read a “Quick start” manual. To assess it click on this button.

After creating a new drawing or editing an existing one, export it into DXF or DWG format using button “Write DXF/DWG”

When you finish your design, close the application. It will return control to the SheetCam environment. To use files created or modified in 2DCAD you should import them using standard SheetCam menu.
Hint: Since most of the parts in SheetCam are presented via closed contour, pay attention to how the geometry is represented in 2D CAD. If the design is resolved or “closed”, you should see geometrical shapes filled in with a solid color. If there are some geometrical inaccuracies, even those not easily visible to the eye, the shape is not filled with solid color. See illustration below:
This part has a geometrical issue, an extra line segment. Because of this, the contour is not filled in.

Once this extra line segment has been removed/corrected, the contour becomes shaded, indicating that the shape is properly resolved or “closed.”

Integrating AutoNesting to your Workflow

အဆင့်ဆင့် example-

  1. Import parts or geometry, using the same import functions that have always existed in SheetCAM. The importing of parts to SheetCAM has not changed in this version. Of course, you can use 2D CAD to validate each part for geometrical correctness. If any issues are found, fix them as illustrated above. 2D CAD can be a great tool to ensure that the geometry is properly resolved or “closed” as shown in the example အပေါ်က။SHEETCAM-2D-CAD-Software-fig-12
  2. For each part you want to include in AutoNesting, create an operation (Jet, for plasma machines. Ensure that each part has correct offsets. For outer contours the toolpath should be outer, for the holes – inner.
ဒီမှာ ရည်းစားဟောင်းample of correct offsets for the outer and inner contours: outer contours are cut from outside, inner contours (holes) are cut from inside.SHEETCAM-2D-CAD-Software-fig-13
  3. To start the AutoNesting, press toolbar button SHEETCAM-2D-CAD-Software-fig-14 “Export to AutoNesting”. You’ll see a dialog box with the list of parts and operations. SHEETCAM-2D-CAD-Software-fig-15Fill out the required data and press OK.
  4. You’ll see the File Save dialog box. Use it to define the folder and file name. Press “Save” button.
  5. Now you should see Auto-Nesting window become active.SHEETCAM-2D-CAD-Software-fig-16
  6. If you are first time user, we strongly recommend reading “Help”.

  7. Check all data, update number of the parts or sheets if necessary. Press “Nesting” button to begin generating examples of nesting layouts.
    SHEETCAM-2D-CAD-Software-fig-18
  8. The application starts generating nesting variants. Each click on the “Nesting” button will generate 5 nesting variants using different (automatically set) nesting options. Usually, these 5 variants are sufficient for finding a suitable solution. In this example variant 5 appears to be the best. Each variant has different algorithms applied for difference scenarios. Variant 1 and 2 are best for wood working and arrange the parts in 90 degree increments. The remaining variants have other solvers that work better for varying shapes. SHEETCAM-2D-CAD-Software-fig-19Each part on the drawing is drawn with different color for ease of visibility. To navigate between different variants use buttons “Back” and “Forward”. You can also zoom the image to see the details better. SHEETCAM-2D-CAD-Software-fig-20
  9. If you are satisfied with results, select the best nesting variant for your application and press “Apply.”

  10. Auto-Nesting application will close, and control will return to SheetCam with the following dialog box:SHEETCAM-2D-CAD-Software-fig-22
  11. Press “Lay out this sheet”, then “OK”.
  12. Open “Job options” dialog box (in “Options” menu).
  13. Choose “Keep parts together” to ensure optimal toolpath.SHEETCAM-2D-CAD-Software-fig-23
  14. Observe toolpath generated for the nested parts.SHEETCAM-2D-CAD-Software-fig-24More details can be found in each module in the Help menus. Thank you for choosing SheetCAM and reach out to our support team with any questions.
